There is some fantastic food happening down in the Baja so I’ve taken it upon myself to give you the low-down on the best restaurants in Cabo San Lucas.
This area of Mexico has been a hot spot for quite some time now and more and more people are discovering not only its charm – but its incredible food scene as well.
Being a coastal city, you can expect to find plenty of fresh seafood in Cabo. If you go on a fishing trip and catch some fish, you can even have some of the local restaurants prepare it for you in a delicious meal.
Obviously there is some excellent Mexican food (hello tacos and mole chicken!) but you’ll find more than just that down here.
Some of the best restaurants in Cabo San Lucas aren’t even Mexican – although there are a lot of fusion restaurants. So even if they are Italian or American, they’ll have some Mexican flair to their dishes.
Table of Contents
You’ll find plenty of Japanese food here too – with a Mexican twist of course. But that’s what makes it even better! Would you believe some of the best sushi I’ve ever had has been in the Baja? I doubt sushi even comes to mind when you think about Mexico.
That’s a whole another post though, we’ve had some excellent sushi in Cabo San Lucas but one of our most memorable was in Los Barriles which is about an hour and a half north of Cabo.
Like I said, I could get into a whole other thing, but this post is about the best restaurants in Cabo San Lucas so I’m going to reel myself back in.

All the restaurants I’ve listed are in the mid price range ($$ – $$$) and you should be able to find enough variety to satisfy even the pickiest eater.
Anyway, if you’re heading to Cabo San Lucas to get some sun and eat some delish food I’m jealous.
So think of me when you’re stuffing your face with chilaquiles and tacos and I hope that you enjoy my top picks for the best restaurants in Cabo San Lucas.
I’ve also included a map below with these restaurants to help you figure out where to go. – Hey decision making can be hard!

These are the best restaurants in Cabo San Lucas
Alexander’s Restaurant
We had one of the best breakfasts ever at Alexanders! Plus, the location is beautiful and central – right on the waterfront at the marina. I can’t speak for everything on the menu but the Chilaquiles were delicious and the restaurant is constantly being rated as excellent.
I don’t know if this is always the case but we also got one of the best exchange rates in Cabo paying with them.

Baja Cantina
Another beautiful marina restaurant with excellent views of the harbour. Baja Cantina’s location is right off the boardwalk and perfect for people watching and seeing the yachts come and go.
You’re bound to find something you want to eat as their menu is pretty big. They do everything from sushi to pizza to your Mexican favourites and if you catch a fish, they can cook it for you!
If you absolutely need to watch sports while on vacation, they play all major sport events too.
Open daily: 7am -11pm | Website here
Los Tres Gallos
Enjoy your dinner in the open air under the stars and twinkle lights. Entering the restaurant, you step into the beautiful courtyard which serves as the dining and waiting area. The open kitchen runs along one side of the room and planted trees throughout the courtyard complete the look.
Come for the authentic, delicious Mexican meals served to you on clay dishes. The menu is a good size and the drinks are served in cantaritos, which are jug-shaped clay cups. They not only look great, but they keep your drinks cold for longer too.
The location of Los Tres Gallos is several blocks away from the marina – which is nice because it’s less touristy. And I can’t forget about the live music playing, because it adds to the ambiance of the place.

Mango Deck
It’s a restaurant, a bar and a beach club all in one – and if you wanted to, you could basically hang out at Mango Deck all day. They’ve got good food, good drinks and if you like to be entertained, you will definitely get that here!
Grab a meal or snack and watch (or partake) in whatever hilarious (and embarrassing) competition is happening on stage. Medano beach is literally right in front of you, so whenever you’re ready for a swim, it’s right there. Grab a bucket of beers to get access to the lounge chairs and you’re good to go.
If you want to rent a jet ski or parasail, you can do so right on the beach. Yes, vendors do walk by trying to sell things but it’s like that on most beaches in Mexico and they’ll leave you alone if you don’t show any interest.
Oh yeah – there’s also a tequila guy that comes around the restaurant pouring out shots, you’ll see what I mean. Only go here if you don’t take yourself too seriously!
Open Sun – Thurs: 8am – 11pm & Fri/Sat: until 12am | Website here
Invita Bistro
I know you’re in Mexico, but you might want to take a break from eating Mexican at some point. So how about Italian?
Their menu offers up the kind of Italian and Mediterranean fare you’d typically find at a more upscale restaurant. The wine list is quite extensive and they also do gluten free pasta, which is great. If you caught a fish – they’ll cook it too!
Being that the restaurant is on the smaller side, it’s a good idea to make reservations if you plan on going there for dinner.
Open Mon – Sat: 2pm – 12pm & Sun: – 12:30pm – 11pm | Website here

Bajo La Luna
This is another cute restaurant in a garden setting, just a couple of blocks up from the marina. It’s a beautiful courtyard with lots of trees and because it’s open air, you’ll be dining under the moon. That is the name of the restaurant after all.
They serve up some excellent seafood and are quickly becoming known for their fine dining experience at affordable prices. They also have happy hour daily in their lounge bar from 2-9pm.
Open Tues – Sun: 5 – 10:30pm for dinner & 2 – 10:30pm for the bar | Website here

The Sand Bar
Good food? Check. Beach front? Check. Massages? Check. Wait what?!
Yup – visit The Sand Bar and you can also enjoy a massage while you’re there. It is Mexico after all.
The roof top deck is set up with massage tables or you prefer, you can sip on a cocktail while getting a reflexology massage and looking out at the view of Lands End.
I haven’t had the chance to get one myself but I’ve heard they are quite good. So, next time we’re in Cabo we’ll definitely try them out – they are really decently priced too!
And of course since they are right on the Medano beach, you can rent kayaks, paddle boards and other water sport activities from them. Or enjoy a bucket of beers while laying out on the lounge chairs or under an umbrella.
Open daily: 8am – 10pm | Website here
La Catrina Restaurant & Bar
Head to La Catrina for breakfast, lunch or dinner – they’re open super early and stay open until late. The location is easy to find and convenient to access the ocean since it’s right across the street from Medano beach.
This is a favourite breakfast spot for many and they serve up a killer margarita too. It’s a great option for families as well since it’s close to the beach but not a party spot like the places right on the beach.
Open daily: 7am – 11pm | Website here
*Pro Tip: Don’t be deterred by people waving you over to their restaurant or ones that seem pretty empty. They probably look like tourist traps but most the restaurants in Cabo are actually really good!

The Rooftop At The Cape
You’ll probably have to take a cab to this one since it’s not in the main area of Cabo San Lucas, but it’ll be worth it. The Rooftop at The Cape Hotel is the only rooftop bar and lounge in Cabo San Lucas and you’ll get excellent views while dining of El Arco to downtown.
Ok, so this isn’t really a restaurant but they do serve tasty appetizers, so I’m including it! Besides the main terrace space, there is also a beautiful lounge area to sit and enjoy your cocktail with the same stunning views.
If you’re super hungry, have dinner somewhere first and come here to watch the sun go down. This is one of the best sunset spots in the city.
Open daily: Sun – Thurs 5pm – 11pm, Fri until 1am & Sat until 2am | Website here
WTF Burger Bar
Sometimes you just want a burger – amiright?? So when you’ve had your fill of ALL the tacos, this is the place to go for that burger craving you’re suffering from my friend.
They’ve got lots of burgers to choose from, including veggie options too. But they do so much more than just burgers – their menu is quite big and no matter who you are, you’ll most likely find something you like.
The location is conveniently located by the marina at the Plaza so it’s easy to get to. And just so you know, they import everything from the United States – except their delicious hamburger beef which is Wagyu Beef from Australia! Dammit, I want a burger now…
Open daily: 9am – 10pm | Website here
Maria Jimenez Restaurante
If you’re looking for traditional, authentic Mexican food, this is the place you want to go! The food is delicious, the portions are big, the drinks are tasty – what more could you want?
The location is in a quieter neighbourhood, several blocks up from the main area but easy to find. Their dishes are served on beautifully painted plates, the tortillas are freshly made and apparently the chile relleno (stuffed chilli pepper) here is excellent.
Open Tues – Sun: 3pm – 10pm | Website here
