Hi Guys, welcome to my travel blog!
I’m Christina, he’s Jamie and our adorable dog-child Brooklyn makes us a family of three. We love to explore and travel, photographing our journeys along the way and forever dreaming up the next awesome adventure.
Jamie is originally from England, I’m Canadian and we live in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia where I was born and raised. Surrounded by mountains, trees and water, there’s no shortage of stunning scenery and it’s an incredible place to call home and come home to.
So no, we’re not full time travellers – but we travel (and adventure) a lot.
We didn’t quit our jobs, sell everything and leave home to travel the world and wander forever – as tempting as that sounds.
Unless you want to, you don’t have to completely change your lifestyle to live a life of travel.
What you do need is to know how to take full advantage of all those vacation days and long weekends. This usually requires good planning and itineraries and getting creative too.
That’s what we do.
Getting the most out of part time travel is a lot easier than you think – and we want to show you how YOU can go and fulfill your travel dreams too.
If part time isn’t your thing and you’re a full on nomad or it’s something you dream of, that’s pretty awesome – it would be an amazing experience for sure. But that’s just not us at the moment, and I’m not sure if that’s something we would ever want either, we love where we live.
We’re just two people and a dog-child with pretty normalish lives, trying to live life as full as we can. Travel and outdoorsy things are a huge part of that for us – so we make sure that we do.
Typically, we fly somewhere at least 2-3 times a year and take a lot of smaller, closer trips by car, taking FULL advantage of long weekends and holidays.
In July 2017 we got married! (are we still considered newlyweds?) So for our honeymoon, I planned an EPIC long trip for us, travelling throughout Southeast Asia.
[Also watch our equally epic wedding highlight video here. It showcases some beautiful spots where we live and it’s short, I promise!]
The trip was a-maaaazing. (aside from me being sick basically the whole, entire time.)
And by long I mean two months – which ok, isn’t that long to a lot of people but it was great for us. We don’t like to leave Brooklyn for too long and we did have our regular lives to get back to. (By the end of it we were feeling pretty ready to come home though, I tend to jam pack our days but then also end up napping half the time.)
We love our dog more than anything, but unfortunately it’s impossible to bring her all around the world with us. But for every road trip she’s along for the ride and for a small girl she loves hiking and always comes with us. That being said, I’m always on the hunt for everything dog friendly at each destination.
That trip was something I always wanted to do when I was younger, but never got around to doing. That made it more special that we were able to experience it all together for the first time.

The timing also meant that we were able to travel to Myanmar, which was closed off from the rest of the world until only recent years. Visiting that country was one of the most incredible experiences I’ve ever had.
So what is Adventure We Seek all about?
Travel writing has been a long time dream of mine but I just never made time to pursue it. I let myself be distracted by other things and different paths. I finally got the push I needed to start, but it came after having to go through an extremely mentally and emotionally difficult time over the last few years.
It’s something I will be sharing with you eventually. But the point is that it made me realize how short life really is and how important it is to live your best life while you can.
I created Adventure We Seek to share our experiences, document our adventures and hopefully inspire you to go out and live your best life too. Whichever way that might be. Do things that make you happy, be adventurous and live life with no regrets.
That’s the way we try to live.
On the outside looking in, it might seem that our lives are great – and I’m not saying that they aren’t. But I’m going to be honest with you, things aren’t always as they seem. We all have struggles and I’m learning to live with and overcome mine every single day.
Experiences are something we consider to be a very important part of life. With that in mind, we try to include as many new experiences in our lives as we possibly can. And we think that you should too.
For us, these can be anything really: From hiking the amazing trails we’re lucky to have at our doorstep to flying across the world to swimming in a new ocean or learning a new sport.
Over the years, we’ve learned a lot of things through our experiences and the mistakes we made along the way. We want to share everything we know with you. My goal is to arm you with the information that we wish we had, all in one place and to help people travel better and smarter.
We want to encourage and inspire you to explore your own backyard too, like we have. You’ll probably be amazed to find what was right there the whole time.
We also want to share with you and show you our beautiful Pacific Northwest and all that it has to offer. We’ll show you why it’s an incredible destination that has to be on your list of places to explore.
Some people live their whole entire lives without ever setting foot in another part of the world. Others haven’t even explored the area they live in. If you’re here reading this, I’m pretty sure you’re not going to let that be you.
Don’t know where to start? No worries, I’m a big researcher – I’ll load you up with tons of ideas and itineraries. We want to inspire others and make it easier to plan that amazing trip you’ve been dreaming about. We love finding and doing unique things that not everyone does and we want to help motivate you to seek your own awesome adventures too.
There’s no real travel secret
People think we’re always away or doing something and ask us how we manage to do all of these things or how we afford it. And yes we are a lot of the time, with all of the smaller trips and hikes we do.
But the truth is… pretty much anyone can do it if they want to. It’s really all about prioritizing what’s important to you and pre-planning when you can. (And we work hard!)
If experiences are something you value above other things, then make it a priority! Life is too short, don’t hold yourself back from what you want to do.
Is it expensive? Yeah, of course it can be, but that doesn’t mean it has to be.
We’ve stayed in everything from tents (camping) to luxury hotels. There are times we do all inclusive resorts or stay in vacation rentals. For us, it really depends on the situation, availability, time of year, what we’re doing and even the country we are visiting.
Although the way we personally travel isn’t always budget, there are ALWAYS ways you can do it for less if you want to. There are tons of things you can do that cost very little too, or are even free. So follow us, and we’ll show you how.
When we aren’t traveling or hiking, we do other “outdoorsy” things like snowboarding, paddleboarding, riding our bikes, kiteboarding (not very well), laking and the newest addition, riding our motorcycles. You can also find us drinking a craft beer somewhere, attending some kind of fun local event or lying on the sofa watching Vanderpump Rules.
