Here are 23 awesome, dog friendly wineries in Kelowna BC
Table of Contents
The Kelowna area of Okanagan wineries is made up of five “wine trails” that are grouped by area.
So if you follow one of these wine trails, typically it will be easier to visit more in one day. (Since they’re closer together).
All the dog friendly wineries in Kelowna are scattered around the region, so I’ve listed them in wine trail groups. This should make it a tad bit easier for you to plan your day.
Most people visit 3-5 wineries in an afternoon, and these groups each have around 3-5 dog friendly wineries so it works out well.
Four out of the five Kelowna wine trails have dog friendly wineries to visit. I’ve also included one bonus section of wineries that are located south of Kelowna but still relatively close.

PS: It probably goes without saying that pets should generally be kept on leash while visiting wineries in the Okanagan.
– Also, be respectful and make sure you pick up after your pup. (There’s really nothing that annoys me more than people leaving dog shit everywhere. Do you enjoy stepping in poo…? I just don’t get it.) Best to not bring dogs who aren’t good with people or other dogs either.
Lakeshore Wine Route
The Lakeshore Wine Route is just south of downtown Kelowna. There are only five wineries on this trail and four of them are dog friendly!
Summerhill Pyramid Winery
The wines at Summerhill Pyramid Winery are aged in their incredibly unique, pyramid shaped wine cellar. Apparently this has all sorts of benefits and you’re able to learn all about them on one of their cellar tours.
As one of the dog friendly wineries in Kelowna, there is an outdoor area where you can sit with your bestie and taste wines.
This Kelowna winery also claims to be vegan friendly but they’ll leave it up to you to decide. [Read here for more information]
Tantalus Vineyards
For wines made from a single vineyard, a visit to Tantalus Winery is a must.
This Kelowna winery is the oldest continually producing vineyard in BC and only produces wine from their own grapes.
They are also the first LEED certified winery in British Columbia, which means they are energy and water efficient – that’s a pretty big deal.
There are some on leash dog friendly areas in the vineyard. If your pup is well behaved, in the summertime you can bring her into the tasting room with you.

St. Hubertus & Oak Bay Estate Winery
With a dog friendly picnic area outside, St Hubertus Winery is a great Kelowna winery to visit with the doggo. It’s a popular wine spot with the locals and their pups too.
BONUS: Walk across the street to Cedar Creek Dog Park afterwards to let your dogs splash around on the beach.
Westside Wine Trail
The westside wine trail is where you will find the West Kelowna wineries.
These are the vineyards that are on the other side of the lake, with many of them being close to, or not far from the highway.
Volcanic Hills Estate Winery
Located on the slope of a dormant volcano, this award-winning winery is located in the middle of the wineries on the West Kelowna wine trail.
You’re welcome to walk with the doggy around the vineyard as long as he’s on leash and the staff will happily provide a water bowl while he waits outside the tasting room.
Volcanic Hills Winery is family friendly as well with a play area for the kids.
Quails’ Gate Winery
A beautiful, dog friendly winery in Kelowna with knowledgable staff and a gorgeous view of the lake behind the vineyards. One of my favourite wineries.
You’ll have to leash your dog outside the tasting room entrance but it’s in the shade, there’s a water bowl and she’ll get lots of attention from other visitors.
They do have a restaurant on site at Quails’ Gate Winery, but unfortunately they don’t allow pets on their patio. So just don’t plan to eat there with your dog.
Accent Inns Kelowna is dog friendly, rated highly and centrally located close to downtown and the beach. It’s only a short drive away from some of the dog friendly wineries and has an outdoor pool too.
Rollingdale Winery
It’s an unpretentious, family owned, organic vineyard right at the beginning of the West Kelowna wine trail.
Bring lunch to Rollingdale Winery and sip a glass of vino with your bestie in their dog friendly picnic area.

Beaumont Family Estate Winery
The Beaumont Winery is 100% certified organic, meaning they only use organic grapes – 100% of them.
One of the wineries in West Kelowna on the wine trail, it can be a little easy to miss due to its location and look – but don’t miss this awesome family run winery.
They have an area right outside the tasting room to leash your dog, with access to shade and water bowls. I love that they donate tasting fees to a local charity too.
Kalala Organic Estate Winery
There’s a big grassy area to sit and enjoy your wine with your pup by your side at this boutique organic vineyard.
Fun Fact: The wine maker owner of Kalala Winery doesn’t even drink but you’d never know it from his award-winning wines.

House of Rose Winery
Have a wine tasting with your pup in the shop, then take a self guided tour of the vineyard at one of the best on-leash dog friendly wineries in Kelowna.
The cute House of Rose Winery is family owned and operated and was one of the first 17 wineries established in the Okanagan Valley.
These winery owners focus on sustainability and reducing their environmental impact by doing thing like: installing energy saving equipment and composting the remains of the grapes from winemaking.
In the manufacturing process, they try to keep their waste down to the size the average family produces. How inspirational is that?!
The fact that a business can manage this means we should ALL be reducing sooo much further. They’ve also been using 100% organic practices since 2009, although they are not yet certified.
Lake Country’s Scenic Sip
Located just north of downtown is the Lake Country wine trail. You can see some of the best views in Kelowna of Okanagan Lake from this scenic wine area.
Intrigue Wines
Bring fido with you to Intrigue Winery and indulge in a wine tasting outside in the pretty picnic area. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the wine is pretty fairly priced too.
Gray Monk Estate Winery
This winery in Kelowna BC is one of the original estate wineries that pioneered the wine industry in British Columbia. They were even the first to plant pinot gris grapevines in all of Canada back in the day – pretty impressive.
There is a place outside the Gray Monk Winery entrance to tie up your dog where he has shade and water.
Ancient Hill Winery
Located close to the airport is Ancient Hill Winery with its European feel. Bring the pups with you while you admire the beautiful gardens and patio outside. Obviously, this is with a tasty glass of rosé in hand too.

Dog Friendly South of Kelowna
Here are five bonus dog friendly wineries located south of Kelowna but still relatively close by.
You could turn it into a day trip or even make these beautiful areas a destination themselves to visit.
See Ya Later Ranch Vineyard
This Okanagan winery is definitely dog friendly – they even have wines named after their dearly departed pets! (Which makes me a little sad, but it’s also really sweet)
Bring fido to this winery and sip on a glass of red outside at the vineyards’ picnic area together.
You won’t be able to bring her inside with you, but rest assured she’ll be comfortable waiting for you outside. See Ya Later Ranch Winery has a designated “barking lot” where your lovable fur balls can be tied under the shade of a tree, and with access to water.
Road 13 Vineyards
